Summer Home Projects -Bathroom Vanity

Completed Bathroom Vanity
Comepletely stripped, sanded, stained and poly.
The thing I love best about summer is the flexibility to actually start and FINISH a project.

My home built in the late 60's does have wood work, however has been painted over, as apparently it wasn't very popular in the 70's and 80's and well I love wood work but the idea that everything is painted over in this house is sometimes frustrating. I decided to tackle my bathroom cabinet, which I feel was an eyesore to the bathroom...one step at a time, I sanded the entire cabinet down to bare wood. Thankfully on the last day of sanding my son Joe offered to do the day's sanding, and I was quite thankful!

Stained and covered with Poly Acrylic and I'm very happy with the results.

(Now if I could muster up the energy to do a few more wood restorations...)

Before Pic, painted brown & before countertop was done, which we did last year.
Partially sanded

Fully Sanded ready for stain
Stained dark walnut
Completed, sprayed handles black
