Inspiration...

I feel totally inspired by this quote, I hope you do too..

It is not those who commit the least number of faults, that are the most holy, but those who have the greatest courage, the greatest generosity, the greatest love, who make the boldest efforts to overcome themselves, and are not immoderately apprehensive of tripping, or even of falling and being dirtied a little, provided they advance.

Happy Fun Kid day

So because we have a busy household and a busy life, time seems to fly by, so we have a few days that we take advantage of as stop and smell the roses days.  I wish we could have even more of them, but one of those days is St. Valentine's day. We have them ever so often, just a day to enjoy the children, do fun things, shut off the phones, turn off the computers, and just have some fun.  We try to find days that are not to far in between, but just days to cause excitement and days we can just be Mom and Dad and not so much homemakers, breadwinners, dinner makers, car drivers and all else that we do.

I helped the little ones make Valentines this year, the big kids came home with made Valentines for each of their siblings.  I made Steve a heart wreath, pictured above.  I took pictures of the kids, and Steve surprised me with dinner just me and him which we NEVER EVER do, but it was so nice for us.  He also brought me home some roses and the funny thing was he walked in with a huge jumbo pack of toilet paper, well the roses were hidden behind and I look at him like, "umm....yeah...thanks for stopping and buying toilet paper...haha"  Then out popped the roses, and the kids say, "what about us?" teasingly and he says, well I have a 12 pack roll of toilet paper, you each get one. hahahaha.  I love a man with a great sense of humor.  Ah, I love my guy!  (insert hug and kiss here)

Sign Language for little ones

So with Carolyn learning sign language, she often uses her hands to talk to the kids and they know many signs.  Even Gwena, that can make the sign for Mama, Dada and does pray.  Mama is hand open below the mouth and Dad is hand open at the forehead (she does her's on top of her head)  She uses the verbal words of "mama" and "Dada" when she does the sign.  Little babies are so intelligent, I swear we do not give them enough credit.

Happy Saint Valentine's Day

One of the fun feasts we celebrate in honor of St. Valentine.  We really try to show a care and love for each other.  We write notes, and I make the kids Valentine's with biblical verse on charity, love or how we are taught to treat one another and of course must have candy!

Me and Steve received some very beautiful  notes and hand made cards with beautiful sentiment of love and appreciation from the children.  I think it is good to teach our children not only to love one another but to appreciate one another and to make each other feel special.

Since it was Gwena's first St. Valentine's day took some pictures of her for fun.  More pic's to come through the weekend, Fridays and Saturdays are very busy for our teenagers.
