Mass Pictures

Good Friday

http://www.fisheaters.com/customslent14.html

In preparation for Good Friday.  Our plan is for church services from 12-3.  The little kids have a "children's good friday" where they talk and learn about the sacrafice of the Cross, and make something in honor of that.  I hope Tony does well.  Anyway, so that's the plan.

Preparation for Easter was a bit hectic.  Thankfully I'm a hoarder!  No really, I do save things, I had all the Easter hats from 2 years ago.  (they were even dollar store finds!) and the little girls dresses worked perfectly as to ones Katelyn, Carolyn and Jaclyn wore when they were Evelyn, Madelyn and Rosalyns age.  I found some sweater vests in my saving boxes for Tony and a hat from Mikey's first birthday.  So we just pieced outfits together!  I think we made it!  Praying next year is much better, but the important thing is we figured it out.

This lent has been a little more sorrowful than we anticipated.  Maybe disappointing is the right word, the prices in gas have caused quite the dilema, but the end is in sight, as we only have one more month of school!!!  Next week the children are on break and we are going to get everything packed, so that, the next few weeks are just concentrating on school and preparing to get the truck packed.

Saturday, we will take afternnon naps to prepare for Easter High Mass, Mikey is really looking forward to decorating eggs!  I wonder what Rosie will think?  Anyway, we are hanging in...

ooops! this is from last Sunday Palm Sunday!

Holy Thursday!

One of the most beautiful, yet strickingly sorrowful, Mass'.  It is one of my favorite Mass' to hear the last gloria before Easter, with bells replaced by the clapper, and the beautiful hymns and prayers.  http://www.fisheaters.com/customslent13.html

Joey was one of six boys serving this evening, the children did wonderfully, Tony did great for the first 1/2 but the second 1/2 he was rather restless.  We had visited the cemetary before Mass.

The Boss forgot his clothes???

So I was preparing Mikey regarding meeting other priests and when we move to Omaha he will meet lots of priests. And you know he loves the altar and all the  cool "stuff" like the vestments, chalice, beretta, all of it...he loves all that stuff. Anyhow, so I told him, he had to be nice to the Bishop and if the Bishop says, hello to him, he should be polite and say hello. Anyhow, I told him the Bishop is like the Boss of all the priests.
so today, during Mass Mikey says, "So that's the bishop, right" and I said yes. He says, "So he is visiting right?" and I said yes. And he says, "and he's the boss" and I said yes. A few minutes later he says, looking at the Bishop in Father Radecki's vestment (and he knows those vestments are Father Radecki's)  and says, "Ok, so I get it that he's visiting and he's the boss, but why couldn't he bring his own clothes!" haha!

School Dedication

It was a beautiful evening, the weather was perfect, the Bishop arrived and it was neat to see all the ceremonies and prayers.  The thank you's and speeches were inspirational.  Neat to see the round of applause for Steve and his work and the kids.  There was a really great slide show!  Anyway, I took a few pictures...

Whoops!

I have fallen and can't get up...

St. Joseph's School

The school is finished!  We are awaiting one last fix for final inspection.  We feel very good about the school, Steve has put so much work into the school including the brick, block, metal studs, installation of cabinets, doors, bathroom necessities, and much much more, including painting and staining.  I was able to get the approval for Carolyn at the time, that turned into approval for a high school and we have put 8 long years into our little school here, we feel good leaving here knowing our job is done, and hopefully Catholic children for years and years will benefit from the hard work we've put into our school.   I feel like we have put our blood, sweat, and tears into this school and we are proud, that we were able to be part of something for the future of Catholic children.  We really believe even though the last few years have been very hard on us, that St. Joseph led us here to do the work we've done.

Next Wednesday the Bishop is coming for the dedication and we will be having a Solemn high Mass early next month in thanksgiving.  We now, feel our work is done here and can leave knowing our part is done.  I took a few pictures, the hallways are filled, due to cleaning, but you can see how beautiful the work is.  I am so very proud of Steve, the work he's done here. I am so blessed to have him as my husband.  Good Job, Steveie!

I'll have final pic's when everything is put in place!  and of course for the dedications!

Things are coming along

Well my packing is going fairly well, I'm pretty much down to organizing and then the last weeks of packing.  Starting at Easter vacation we are going start taking bed's down and packing the things we use everyday.  We got word our renters found a house are are moving out by May 1st.  We will get there June 1st.  I'm veyr excited to be done with school, packing and to get settled.

This is a busy time for us, helping the kids finish their last quarter.  Katelyn and Carolyn are disecting a shark this week.  Mikey is pushing me to work on his numbers now!  Tony is sitting and playing solo now, and that's so nice.  Rosie is giving me a royal time not wanting to go potty on the toilet.  Madelyn is studying for her First Communion,  Jaclyn has been crazy silly lately.  Joe and Evelyn have been a tad hyper--come on warm weather--these kids need to get outside!

Excuse me!

; funny, funny. when Tony was an infant I could never get him to burp but learned that if I sat him up he would burp well actually belch. haha. So anyhow, he still does it the minute he's done nursing i sit him up and he lets out a big one. Well his 4 year old brother, ran over once I sat him up to give him a kiss, I tried to stop him but it was too late, the second Mikey's lips hit Tonys--he belched a big one. The look on Mikey's face was priceless and I'm still laughing myself to tears! This is the same kid that doesn't want Tony to hold his toys because "Tony gets spit on everything" hahahaha!
