Girls Camp/part 2

Well Madelyn caught her first fish, the Bishop told her she had to kiss her first fish, but that didn't happen. haha!  She did hold it (kinda sorta)  Jaclyn came in 2nd in the shooting competition and got a trophy for it.  The girls tried out archery, and we had a talent show.  Madelyn and a few other girls sang the National Anthem, and everyone joined in.  Katelyn recited a poem she wrote about Marilyn -it was very touching.  Jaclyn and Carolyn did their pens skit, and they also did in between acts like the old silent movie funny mime skits.  Everyone went crazy over it.  Evelyn was too busy playing with her friends to plan for the Talent show. haha.  and Olivia from Michigan came and the girls really enjoyed that.

Me?  I'm pooped, wow   hard cooking and cleaning after so many girls.  But it was rewarding to be around friends old and new.  I really enjoyed being around other Catholic mom's a lot of great conversation.  The theme was Our Lady of Fatima and they play was spectacular.  Carolyn played Our Lady and Katelyn was Lucia's mother, and a prison guard.  Jaclyn was the narrator and played a prisnor when they took the children for questioning.  They all did amazing.  Carolyn was so graceful, literally she really played Our Lady wonderfully.  Katelyn really did great, she was very clear and did super with her lines, Jaclyn narrated great, she was loud and clear and as a prisnor she looked so funny with her drawn on beard.  So it was a very rewarding girls camp, the spiritual part of it, really was beautiful with Mass, the Rosary, praying the Angelus twice a day, along with many prayers and learning.

Little Tony was a bit fussy at times, but at the end Steve was able to take him a few hours and then I would come home and care for him and go back and that was really nice for Tony to be home.

Job News

Well it looks like Steve found a job, barring no construction delays he should start on Monday.  Very excited by this.  Now maybe we can start being normal again!  Woo Hoo!

Girls Camp

Well girls camp is winding to a close and its been one busy week.  Its been a lot of fun though.  The three oldest girls are staying there full time, and I'm bringing in the three youngest girls for the daytime.  The first day we went to the convent and it was so hot that day.  The kids swam, archery, canoeing, fishing, and just about anything else you can imagine. haha.  It was packed and the road to the convent seemed endless, and we were exhausted.

As the days went by we had some days at the church and some days at the convent, its all a blur now. haha.  I helped in the kitchen for mealtime.  The kids did arts and crafts made stepping stones, purses, St. Joseph cords, prayer cards, saw a sheep and messed with wool.  Madelyn caught her first fish, we went swimming at an indoor pool, they are working on a play for Saturday Jaclyn came in second place (and is very proud of her trophy) in a shoot competion (pellets hitting balloons)  Katelyn milked the cow and was also able to shoot, Carolyn missed, but looked like fun.  The three oldest girls are in the play.  Evelyn has been enjoying the swimming, wanted badly to catch a fish, but it just wasn't her year for that, she is excited for the archery tomorrow.  Then the girls had a Victorian Night where they all dressed up and had a candle lit dinner, they prayed the Rosary in the chapel by candlelite that night.  They've been to Mass each day, well anyway, they've had a great time.  Two more days to go, tomorrow is arts/archery/and play practice day, also I think a campfire.  Saturday is the bar b que, play and then they come home.  Its been fun packed, but a lot of work.

Mikey and Rosie have been hanging out with dad missing us during the day and smothering me with kisses in the night.  Joe has been helping his dad.  Tony has done ok, he does well for a while but when he gets hungry or tired he gets fussy.  Anyway I'll share more this weekend but gotta say its been nice.  Oh, and by the way, the trip out to the convent since I've done it almost daily doesn't seem so bad now. haha!  But thankfully its only once a year we do this!

Happy 4th of July

We had a nice day, it was warm but not unbearable.  We planted some zuchinni seeds and cucumber seeds in the morning.  The pumpkin plants are coming up nicely, the lettuce looks nice and the tomato plants are on the mend.  In the evening we ate dinner outdoors (first time since our neighbor gave us a picnic table) and we then headed over to Boys Town for fireworks with time to play ball and sit around.  It was a nice display, we found a good spot this time, and we had a great time.

Please continue to remember us in your prayers, we are looking very hard for a job, we are hitting brick walls (no pun intended...), so far, but our novena to St. Joseph ends this week.  (actually Steve's novena)  and I'm working on St. Anthony to help us "find" a way.  We aren't picky, we are looking everywhere.  We have been passing out flyers for sidework, so even a few little jobs to help us while we remain patient would be great.  Anyway, school is approaching fast and I'm beginning to get very worried.  With prayer, all things are possible!  Steve is going to the college this week, so we can get going on that avenue, we just need one break...one person to give us a shot.  Below are the pic's from today...God Bless You and this country.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Mama with twins...cool.

oooh, whats all this?

Great friends....so a great friend bought our family a membership to the zoo.  We have not taken a family day in what seems like a long time, we had the greatest time.  We were only there a few hours and checked out the rainforest, part of the desert dome, the aquarium (which was so cool!) and the Big Cats.  So much more to see, so glad we can go as often as we like.  Can't wait to go back, maybe next week if the weather stays nice.  Woo Hoo!  It was so much fun.  We love, love, loved it!
