Our Trip

We did have a wonderful trip.  The first night we got in and saw Steve's parents for a bit, then we drove into my mothers, it was so wonderful to see her as I ran in being I haven't seen her in four very long years!  She met Rosie and Tony and it was really nice.  She made us dinner and soon my sister Cristi and husband Victor showed up bringing the 2 younger kids and my nephew Jeremy was there too.  It was a nice evening.

On Wednesday, we got up and me and Mom went to the store, we got stuff to start making pies and me and the girls got to work, making pies.  It actually didn't take very long, soon Mom began work prepping the turkey, and the little kids played with Gia and Sonny (my neice and nephew)

The next day we got up early, loaded the pies and sweet potato bake and headed to Steve's parents first.  We got there and found out that our Sunday plan had to be cancelled and if we were going to see any of the Cichos family, we were going to have to do it today, unfortunately our plans for dinner could not be changed, so the visit was short, but it still was sweet, but we did leave disappointed, as the kids were so excited to play with their cousins and I felt bad that they couldn't have more time.  Next time, I will plan much better with other family members.  But it was nice to get what we could.

We then got to my sisters after a very long drive, we are so shocked by the growth in parts of Aurora, Parker, Elizabeth and Castle Rock.  We get there and just a few minutes later my friend Anne shows up with my two godsons.  It was so nice to see my little "guys" and she stayed just a little bit so she could see her god-daughter Evelyn.  My older sister arrived with Johnny and my mother arrived with Christopher (his home is close to her house)  My brother was there, but my nephews Jeremy and Nick were late and they didn't stay long.  We had a really nice dinner, and it was fun to sit at a little card table, just my mom, me, my older sister and younger sister.

We got back to my mothers pretty tired after the long day.  On Friday I was pretty sick, my voice was basically gone, and I was pretty bummed that my sinus' were making me feel horrible.  We got up and went to Grandma Judy's and the kids had a great time, unfortunately I had a hard time talking to Judy, the kids played outside, her house is beautiful and her yard is equally as impressive, her daughter Mel gave me a computer screen, and Judy had presents for all of us.  That evening we arrived at Cristi's for a quick dinner and then me and my mother went to the local IHOP for coffee date with my Colorado church ladies, we only stayed for a short time as I still couldn't be heard, my voice was cracking and was barely audible.  That night, the throwing up began, first it was Carolyn, then Jaclyn, I went to bed becasue I didn't feel well and I did feel kind of sick but I was trying hard to ignore it, well Jaclyn was in the bathroom cleaning up and I started throwing up, oh you would not believe me running all the way down the stairs to find a bathroom!  Some more of the little kids got sick, so the day that was suppose to be hang out with my mom and just not have much as far as plans got pretty ruined and we ended up staying in bed pretty sick.  But thankfully we started feeling better, well most of us.  Over Saturday night Rosie got sick and we decided it would be best not to attend Mass, too many of us were just not sure if it was over, probably was a good thing now hindsight, as I think this virus is rather catchy.  We made it to Steve's parents for brunch and we had a glorious time.  It was so great to see the yard, the kids were playing in their playhouse (that we left behind ten years ago) and that made me feel good, I've secretly wished to find a way to get it for my little kids, so it was so nice to see them playing with it.  They rode the tractor, they ran and played.  Steve's neice Vicky (which is one family member I've always felt rather close to) came over to visit and that made me happy, kind of took away some of the disappointment I had felt earlier in the week.  And then other members came over to David's next door and let their kids play outside (of course I wish I would of known they were there, but only found out when it was time for them to go) but did get to visit for a few minutes.  The kids on the other hand had a great time and I just loved seeing them play outside in our old stomping ground!  Then we had a nice dinner and then the kids played cards with their grandma Cichos, which is about their absolute favorite thing to do!  And Grandpa watched on and well Steve was a bit pushy (haha)  sort of competitive I think. haha.  And I played old maid with the little ones, they had to teach me how!  They said Grandma had taught them long ago and they could help me learn. That was sweet.  They gave us some nice goodies, some of Steve's old things, grandpa's old fighter hat is pretty awesome, Steve's baseball cards and I got two pretty great roaster pans!  We headed back to my mothers, and my sister came up to say goodbye, and that made me feel good, I had hugged my brother goodbye the night before.  And we had a little nice talking.  We cleaned up in the morning and loaded up.  Mommy gave me a bunch of goodies and was having the kids sneek things in the car.  I got a rug for Christmas decorating and a steamer mop and pots and pans.  Monday morning we loaded both cars.  Grandpa and Grandma worked out a deal with the three oldest for their van so they have a van to help them out with driving (helps me out a ton)  and so the trip home was long and tedious!  I wasn't feeling that great, and was kind of tired, but it was all worth it.  I wish we wouldn't of gotten sick and sorry I didn't get to see the new Cichos wives, but still blessed we were able to have a vacation after so many years.

Time-Out

Well, I'm heading to a time out time, and going to
take a break from home-improvement things until after Advent and Christmas and New Years and the Epiphany Season.

So the next few months going to be working
on preparing the hearts, minds and home for the
Blessed Events.

Advent brings out our greenary around the home,
our Advent wreath, and we hang up our stockings.

The third Sunday of Advent will bring out our
Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations.

Next week we will take a visit to see Santa, we do
it early in the season to really spend the season of Advent concentrating on the coming of Jesus.

Saturdays will become time for shopping or cooking.  Each year, we make candies and cookies during this time and we have a few new recipes and ideas to try.

Hope everyones Advent season starting on Dec. 2nd (just five days away...) is filled with blessings, successful sacrifices, and the anticipation of the coming of Our Lord...

rhe

Fabiola

The highschool put on their play today.  I guess it lasted about 2 hours but honestly I was so enthralled I had no idea. hehe  Jaclyn played Fabiola, to say she impressed us big time, would be an understatement.  We are very proud.  All the kids did great.  Joe and Carolyn has small parts but did great too.  It was a great show.  Its all about the Catholic Persecutions.  Fabiola is a well to do and people around her are Christian but in secret, as they are found out and murdered she finds in her heart she was Christian all along.

End Year Prayer

At Year's End

By James J. Metcalfe

Dear God, I thank You for this year
That now is near its end
For health and home and happiness
And every faithful friend
I thank You for my daily work
Each failure and success
And for the courage to go on
In time of strain and stress
Dear God, forgive the many wrongs
I did throughout the year
My foolish discontent and each
Unnecessary tear
Forgive the negligence in me
The prayers I did not say
The opportunities and all
The time I whiled away
And help me through the coming months
With grace and strength anew
That I may give my best on earth
To praise and honor You.

My Birthday

Welp, it happened, had my birthday, I was so excited for my birthday this year since it fell on election day I just knew American would rid of us the disease called Obama, boy was I stunned.  I'm still stunned, and it really put a damper on my week.  Well I guess we just have to face facts that much of America is ignorant, they don't actually learn about what they are voting for, and they just don't have a lick of sence about themselves.

Its not funny but we were laughing at different late night hosts heading to the streets asking random people questions about the candidates.  We couldn't believe the lack of knowledge, some people thought Ryan was Obama's running mate, that Sarah Palin was running again, that Bin Lauden was still alive, knew nothing about Bengazzi, someone even thought Mitt Romney was the black candidate.  Its not really funny, we laughed at the time, but we aren't laughing now.  I really could not see America re-electing him, I thought it would be close and still surprised by that, but I didn't expect a win.

So anyway, its taken me about all week to get over my mood.  Now we just have to be tedious especially in two years in our Senate and House elections.  We lost the big seat, sadly my prediction is, society is already so fastly changing, that the Conservative will be rare and will be an outcast by the time that Obama's term is over, 8 straight years of this is going to create an avalance of liberals, immorality, abortions and Socialism, I'm going to spend much time praying but I really think that America really made a huge mistake.  We need to pray for the Republicans in the House and Senate, even if we don't like them, that they can hold off as much as they can.  Anyhow that's my soapbox post.  Anyway, tomorrow we are going to dinner for my birthday so I'll have pictures then.  The kids made me a cake, we had a nice dinner at home, but sadly the election put a major damper on things.

We are the FAITHFUL!

This country is divided, basically in 1/2. If you look at the map of what states Romney won and what states Obama one, its completely split down the middle. Obama won the high electoral votes and got him the presidency, but Romney won much of the nation. We are a country divided. All day long watching the chatter, from the Dem side, everyone was rush to judge those saddened by the Obama win, really? Are they so high and mighty to admit if the tables were turned last evening they would all of a sudden fall in love with Romney? Respect is earned and this president has not earned our respect. He has shoved liberal mandates and agenda down our throats, people see strong Christians as intolerant. Where is the intolerance? Is it not themselves whom are so intolerant of a faithful people? This country was founded for religious freedom, yet we are to be stalemated into liberal agenda, and whom are the hypocrites? Are you Christian? Did you vo

te for Obama, I say to you that is the definition of hypocrisy. We must continue on, we must fight the good fight, we must keep electing those that carry our freedoms, and are willing to fight for them, we lost the big seat but we must continue working bottom up, since we lost top down. We must support our troops, leave no man behind, not allow cover ups, pray for those less fortunate and help them when we can. And we must continue to exercise our religious rights, live our faith, set the examples, show Our Lord our faithfulness despite what surrounds us, teach our children oh so important to teach our children, and push through these times with prayer and strength. I say to you dear friends, it is not in this life we receive our reward for a good life, so let us continue to fight the good fight, do our hard work, pray and set the examples to all men we are not intolerant, we are THE FAITHFUL!

Shame on America, absolute shame!

This country is no longer blessed by God, and the rest of us suffer for it. Why would he bless us? Do we follow his commandments as a whole. Yes you do, and I do and many do, but as a whole, this country does not. We use his name in vain every chance we have; OMG is a household word now, used everyday, everyway in slang, all over our internet posts, we sleep in on Sundays because we worked hard all week, we commit adultery at a drop of a hat, we are not satisfied with our blessings we want more, more, more, we kill the unborn, we fornicate, we must be tolerant to those living in sin and the perversion that sex has become with same sex marriages. We allow our children to be indoctrinated at our schools, we turn our eyes when our college students have to write papers in favor of Liberal ideals, we walk out of the house 1/2 naked in the desire to be sexy. We steal from others, we kill each other, we swear at each other, we do not treat each other the way we would want to be treated, we gossip, we slander, we pass judgement. Yet we call ourselves a Christian nation, ran by a member of the Muslim brotherhood, wow we are just so smart, aren't we. Sadly its people like you, like me, like all those we are close to, that suffer, for this. People say, 4 more years? People need to wake up, with 8 straight years of this Liberal agenda shoved down our throats, the ideals of Conservatives, of God, of family, will be long gone by the majority by then. Already this morning the news casters are saying Republicans are going to have to make concessions, they are going to have to do what Crap-oma wants because he has all the flexibility he desires now and he is not a gracious man, he is a hardened arrogant and will use his win and the Senate wins to his full advantage.
