Happy Ordination Day

This year on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadelupe we had the great opportunity to be present at the ordination at Fr. Robert Laterneau to the Holy Priesthood and Frater Fransis Crawford to Sub-Deaconate.  Below is a collection of my favorite pictures, the next day (3rd Sunday of Advent) Fr. Laterneau said his first Mass, a Solemn High.

Happy Advent

Well here we sit almost through the first week of Advent, Happy New Year, as the Church Calendar just began.

Christmas Preparations are in full swing!

So I'm just about done with shopping, which I try to do as early in Advent as possible so I can spend the rest of Advent with the children.

Advent Wreath prayer has begun, some decorating is done, but we wait for the tree until the 3rd Sunday in Advent, joyous Sunday...

The weather is nice this week so I think we will hang up the lights outside over the next few days.

And baking, candy making and wrapping is about to begin.

The kids Christmas program is soon and the Little children's Pagent is soon.  So we have lots and lots going on.

Christmas is such a beautiful time, it can be hectic, especially for Mom's of a large family.  I was even sitting there thinking, why is it that mom's get stuck with the decorating, the cooking, the shopping, the wrapping and pulling it all together, not to mention dressing for programs and pagents...and then I stopped and thought, just enjoy it, one day the kids will be doing their own thing so I better enjoy it now. haha.

Ok, off to steal a few moments minus kids to put some Christmas presents away.  God Bless, more soon.  Have a great Advent, and remember me and mine in your prayers, you have mine....Luv Ya

"Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; make melody, rejoice and sing. Sing praise to the Lord on the harp, on the harp, and with the voice of a psalm: with long trumpets, and sound of cornet. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our King: let the sea be moved and the fullness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein. The rivers shall clap their hands, the mountains shall rejoice together at the presence of the Lord: because He cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with equity." ~ Psalms 97:4-9

November 22 - St. Cecilia, patroness of music, and Last Sunday after Pentecost (Mass readings about the end of the world when Christ WILL triumph).

Miraculous Medal

November 28 - St. Catherine Laboure of the Miraculous Medal

"And thus when she came to the end of her mortal life, she did not face death with fear but with gladness. Confident in God and the most holy Virgin, she took time to distribute, with a weak and tremulous hand, the last of her Miraculous Medals to those standing by, and then, content and smiling, she hastened away to Heaven."

~ Pope Pius XII, at the close of her canonization ceremonies in 1947

Busy Move...

So the last few weeks are a blur, really.  My mother has moved to Nebraska.  We were having just a terrible time finding her a house to rent long distance.  Unfortunately people in this day and age have become very paranoid.  For me to do the looking, raised suspicion of why the woman renting was not looking at the house.  I tried to explain she lives in Colorado and is moving here, and its just too costly to drive 8 hours just to look at a rental.  But well...it just wasn't working out, so after the trucks were loaded and brought here, she is going to stay with my brother Joe a few miles away from me, for a month or so...maybe through the winter and then she can look for her own rental home.  We had to unload the trucks into Joe's garage and some into his house, and are still looking for her important things...like clothes!

In the meantime she is resting, she is very exhausted, quite bruised from moving and trying to get her bearings, fighting a pretty nasty cold.  Tomorrow we are going to take her to a bed store for a new bed, her bed is taking up 85% of her room, so looks like me and Steve are getting a new bed, she is giving us her's to make room for a new one for her. Yeah!

Anyhow, kids are happy to see her, Gwena has been super shy but also teething and been a bit sick, so they haven't bonded yet, but the other kids are enjoying her so far.

I'm sure its going to be an adjustment.  Winter hit today so hoping the weather in a new area isn't too hard on her.  If y'all can remember the family in your prayers, I didn't realize or remember how hard it is to move. haha.

Happy 19th Birthday Carolyn

My Weezy turned 19.  We had a nice dinner at home with my Mom, nephew Jeremy and  brother Joe included.  She had a nice calm day, took some time to rest and read, which she never gets to do.  She wanted pineapple upside down cake for her birthday cake, she enjoyed all the texts, emails and phone calls she got from her friends.

Its so hard to believe she is 19 years old.  My crazy, spunky Weezy....Love ya girl!  You are special that is for sure.

My favorite thing about Weezy is she makes me feel good.  She comes in, sits down and talks to you.  She juggles her responsibilities but also takes the time to be a friend.

Fun Costumes

So as our tradition follows, we concentrate on the Catholic Feast of All Saint's Day and spend much time studying, making Saint Costumes, and Celebrating the glorious Feast we celebrate tomorrow.

But on a side note, we also let the children play dress up and a little fun with their own imagination, with no fuss from me. haha.  I'm ready for tomorrow to be about Mass and prayer to the Holy Saints in Heaven but I enjoy watching the children be children.  So here's a few cute costumes they came up with.
